Not Good at Writing to a Ukrainian Woman? Here's How to Overcome This Obstacle!

Distance communication Agence CQMI

You've found the profile of a gorgeous Ukrainian woman on our website, your heart is pounding, and then... total panic. What should you write to her? How do you avoid looking like an idiot? Don't worry, you're not alone in this situation, and there are solutions!

Unfortunately, when you want to meet a woman who lives thousands of kilometers away from you, you have no choice but to start with a stage of long-distance communication. Fortunately, the Internet makes this process fast and free — no more postal letters that took three weeks to reach Kyiv! But the Internet can't do everything for you either. You still need to know what to write to her and especially how.

This is where inequalities lie, and I see some men suffering agony in front of a blank page. The blinking cursor, the empty screen, and that cold sweat running down your back...

My personal story

It's a bit like when we were at school and the teacher asked us to write an essay on some random topic. At that game, even though I was terrible at spelling, I was literally unbeatable. So much so that my French teacher contacted my parents to ask who in the family was writing my essays for me!

Under his skeptical gaze, I apparently wasn't capable of writing such interesting and captivating stories at my age. My mother obviously denied everything, but never really convinced him. In the end, I love writing stories — it's one of my strengths.

So, when meeting a Ukrainian woman, this gives me a big advantage over my male competitors. But I understand that not everyone has this ease!

The two dating strategies: which one suits you?

Both approaches are quite simple to understand, and you need to choose the one that matches your personality and strengths:

Strategy A: Long written discussions before the first meeting

This is my personal choice because it's my natural strength. This approach offers a considerable advantage: not making a long and expensive trip for nothing.

When I was preparing my first trip to Kyiv, would you believe that I had already chosen Boryslava's profile — my wife today. But to my great surprise, Boryslava had a preference for Strategy B because she doesn't like writing! I was offended, and that's actually why I didn't want to meet her in Kyiv — and the ladies at the agency forced me to. Thank you to them, in retrospect!

Strategy B: Head to Kyiv without epistolary preliminaries!

This strategy consists of minimizing the period of written exchanges between choosing a profile and the first meeting. You bet everything on the face-to-face encounter.

The story of the wealthy Canadian

On this subject, let me tell you the story of this very rich Canadian man who, being extremely busy with his work, didn't want to spend "useless" time on long-distance communications. However, he wanted to increase the number of meetings to 18 instead of 8!

In the end? None of the 18 women suited him... and he fell madly in love with his assistant Svetlana! As they say, love doesn't always follow accounting logic...

My deep conviction is that my method (Strategy A) is the best, but I'm biased: I'm basing it on my natural strength. But here's the catch: some men, even if they have time, simply don't know how to write.

Resources to help you

That's why I've written several articles with ideas to inspire you. Many men actually copy my motivation letter word for word — and it works!

Check out our CQMI blog for more advice on how to communicate effectively with Ukrainian women.

Identify your category!

First of all, you need to identify which category you fall into. If you're in the "writing dunce" category, you're going to need help.

Good news! Artificial intelligence can become your greatest friend and advisor. ChatGPT, Claude, or other tools can help you structure your ideas and correct your mistakes. Please, don't send a letter where you write like you speak, with sentences that have no structure whatsoever. It won't be forgiven.

Why is spelling so important?

Because women from Eastern Europe are highly educated. Illiterate people are virtually non-existent in Ukraine! For cultural reasons, a respectable Ukrainian woman will not marry a man who cannot read and write properly.

This is a huge cultural difference between North America and Eastern Europe.

My culture shock at Bombardier

I will always remember arriving in Quebec at a prestigious company with an international reputation: Bombardier. My boss wrote his emails with an average of 3 or 4 mistakes per sentence!

Over there, nobody seemed to pay attention. But believe me, an educated Ukrainian woman will notice immediately. And she will judge. That's how it is.

"In Ukraine, knowing how to write correctly is a sign of respect and education. Not mastering your written language means disqualifying yourself from the start."

My practical advice

  • Use AI to correct your texts before sending
  • Have someone proofread if you're really not sure
  • Be authentic — a simple but sincere text is better than a pompous novel
  • Ask questions about her life, her passions — show your interest
  • Avoid clichés like "Hi, you're beautiful, how are you?"

Don't forget that these women are not looking for a one-night stand. They are looking for marriage and a lifelong union. If you're not serious about your intentions, move along.
